Abstract

In Islam, education is not only about the transfer of knowledge, but also about the formation of character and morals. Animals can be an effective medium in teaching moral and ethical values. Many verses of the Koran and hadith mention animals as symbols or metaphors to teach important lessons. Interacting with animals can teach children about empathy, compassion and responsibility. These values are very important in forming good character. Involving animals in the educational process can provide practical and interactive learning experiences, which can strengthen understanding and application of the character values being taught. The aim of the research is to explain the role of animals in character education, to identify and explain how animals can be used as tools to teach moral and ethical values in character education according to an Islamic perspective. The research method used is the library method. The researcher uses data meta analysis, namely analyzing the content of the sources that have been collected to find patterns, themes and information that supports or answers the research questions. The main findings in the research on Islamic Sources Supporting Character Education through Animals, analysis of verses from the Koran and hadith show that animals are often used as a tool for teaching morals and ethics.
